The marigold is traditionally one of the most important medicinal plants there is and has been well researched. Everyone has heard of its excellent nourishing effect on the skin. Yet it has exactly the same effect on the inside! It is rich in essential oil, contains saponins, carotenoids, flavonoids, bitter substances and mucilages. Marigold cares for the mucous membranes in the stomach and intestines, has a positive effect on the liver and gall bladder, promotes balanced intestinal flora and cares for the skin. It has also been shown to be effective against flagellates such as trichomonads.
