It goes without saying that bitter herbs are part of the horses' daily feed. At least that is how it used to be. Horses like to eat them in small quantities. However, they cannot be found on most meadows these days. That means that many horses are not provided with a single one of these bitter herbs. The result is inflammation of the mucous membranes, imbalances in the intestinal flora, colic, faecal water and diarrhoea. Bitter herbs stimulate the production of digestive juices, without which good digestion is impossible. In addition to stimulating digestive secretions, bitter herbs stabilise the beneficial intestinal flora. This is the most important prerequisite for utilising feed and producing essential vitamins such as B6, B12 and K.
